Hennie Meyer Boogie Woogie "4 Box"
The Boogie Woogie series was inspired by the Dutch painter Mondrian’s painting “Broadway Boogie Woogie.” The hand built ceramic “Boogie Woogies” are abstract ceramic forms that allude to the crude mark making found in some urban contemporary art. The forms show the contrast, vibrancy, and energy of a living city. Not only are the forms architectural but they become the creatures which populate the structured chaos of cities themselves.
