Aleksandra Sumner-Priilaid 2002
Aleksandra Sumner-Priilaid is a South African–Estonian oil painter based in Cape Town. Working primarily in portraiture, she explores identity, psychological interiority, and sacred femininity through richly layered oil paint.
A graduate of the Michaelis School of Fine Art, she maintained a place on the Dean’s Merit List throughout her degree and holds a Psychology Honours awarded with distinction. She is currently producing a series of oil portraits documenting Cape Town’s drag scene
